...say the name jehovah in their prayers just like jesus did in his model prayer at matthew 6:9 (or is it 9:6???)
...die on a stake like jesus did?

are footstep followers of jesus.
so,,, how do they follow jesus?
what does the evidence show about their claim as footstep followers of jesus?

human opinion is lower than divinely revealed absolute truth.
by its very nature, human opinion gropes its way from looking at things one way one day and another way another day.
mere opinion is uninformed and little more than a personally appealing whim passed off as fact.
thanks this was an enjoyable read... can't wait for part 2!

i have a friend that is a pioneer and lives in another province.
she calls quite a bit early in the morning to chat, always says to say hi to my husband and children who are not baptized.
i am baptized and i was wondering if she could count her time talking to me.
are you inactive? if so, she can count time + balls. if not, i'm 97% sure she can't legally count her time talking to you.

so said the lead singer in a greenwich village spot called cafe wha over the weekend to the delight of a number of (i suppose) jws that clapped, hooted and hollered!!
!
awww come on guys let the witnesses have this one thing! they can't do coke or fuck or go skydiving or celebrate anything... LET THEM HAVE THIS ONE VICE TO INDULGE IN!

consider this - job, blameless and upright actually celebrated birthdays with his family.. according to the new world translation job 1:4,5 says this - .
4 and his sons went and held a banquet at the house of each one on his own day; and they sent and invited their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
5 and it would occur that when the banquet days had gone round the circuit, job would send and sanctify them; and he got up early in the morning and offered up burnt sacrifices according to the number of all of them; for, said job, maybe my sons have sinned and have cursed god in their heart.
i believe all the guests in attendance are to blow out the candles.
a witness will never agree that Job celebrated his sons' bdays... if it's not in their translation, then it doesn't matter because it's not from the faithful flave

i am old enough to remember the days when conventions lasted many long days and large.
numbers of brothers were employed in preparing hot meals served on trays, army-style.
also recall how good these steam cooked meals tasted - and how policemen, assigned to.
well-written met. unfortunately, any well-rehearsed jdub is only going to respond with "the society has been simplifying for years now. the concentration is on spiritual food and association. we don't need food at the assemblies or more than one awake per month"

do you know (or have you ever known) of apparently loyal or even fanatical jws that lead a double life?
they may appear godly and obedient but in secret they bend the rules eg by fornication, cheating etc
yes of course! there are too many... to me it's not that the sin they're hiding is always sooooo bad, but the fact that they do certain things that they would never do in front of people who know them as witnesses, and know how they should act. come to think of it though, don't we all do that to some degree?

peak attendance was a bit above 7,800; 29 baptised.
the saturday symposium, espacially the ``loyally supporting the faithful slave" was the most strident call for mindless obedience to human authority to date-- a new low.. the talk ``youths-- are your goals leading you to success?
" andf the ``drama" that followed, also plunged to new depths of organizational abuse with its anti-intellectual, anti-college harangue.
Severial JWs were videotaping the drama; a copy of this would be a ;very valuable ;piece of evidence for any non-JW parent in a custody battle with his/her JW spouse
i would also love to see it! i like making fun of shit in the comfort of my own home

does anyone remember this game from (i think) the early '80s?
it's a role playing game of some sort that included some violent imagery or something.. i remember jws (and the media, come to think of it) making a big, big deal of it.
something like it was demonized or made kids murder people.
at one time i played D&D... then i realised i'd rather play with girls, and unfortunately you don't get to choose both
